This week has been a wonderful week for seeing friends. I’m sure that after the self-imposed exile of holidays we need to touch base with those we’ve missed.
Added to this the fact that I’m not a) at work or b) too exhausted from work to make the effort to get together with people I appreciate.
So in thanks for a couple of evenings’ drinks with friends, dinner, a photo exhibition, an email, a FB message and a Skype chat, here’s today’s poem in praise of friends.
There’s only one of the gang still out of the loop, so hurry home BT!
Old Friends by Raymond A. Foss
They meet after months and yet
The time melts away
And they are back in the swing
Ready to banter and bait
To play off one against the other
Of easy laughter and witty repartee
Easy smiles and quick jabs
To while away to hours
And drink in life again
As they do, as old friends do
With relish and a tall tale or two
