Today I have had one of those days that remind me why I love my job . Three of my classes gave their oral presentation on the subject of “Present your passion”.
I have learnt about the symbols on the Korean flag, the rules to American football and why Dior beats the pants off Chanel.
I have seen the laziest girl in the solar system show sewing and embroidery that must have taken months to complete, the muscle man show off his stamp collection and the new kid pick up a dozen disciples with news of his reggae band and previous life (and dreadlocks) in the Bahamas.
I have discovered an acrobatic gymnastic champion, a fencing star and a level 14 Call Of Duty hero within our midst.
What I have really learnt is how good it feels to show others (and remind yourself) of something you are good at. While some kids just presented things they’re fond of, you could tell those with a real passion by the glitter in their eyes and the glow on their faces. Their presentations are being marked by the other students, so I’ll let you know who won.
In the meantime, what's your passion? If you haven’t got one, then think about the glow and glitter you’ll have if you get one.
